Stonegate is a quaint 171-home gated neighborhood in beautiful McKinney, Texas. Stonegate received it's Articles of Incorporation on July 25, 1996. Phase I building began in September of that year and Phase II began in August of 1998. Our community is comprised of both one and two story homes with square footage ranging from approximately 2100 to 3600 square feet. We are conveniently located approximately 1.5 miles from US 75 and 2.5 miles from the Sam Rayburn Tollway / SH 121.
Stonegate offers its residents access to a community pool and covered baby pool with a pool house, playground area with jungle gym and basketball pad, and walking path with large surrounding commons. Schools that our community attends are Valley Creek Elementary, which is a Blue-Ribbon School, Faubion Middle School and McKinney High School.
The county seat of Collin County, McKinney is located approximately 30 miles north of Dallas and has been noted as the fastest growing city in the nation in recent years. Current population is about 141,000.
McKinney ranks #2 on the Best Places to Live in America list 2012 issued by Money Magazine. McKinney is the only Texas city in the top 10. The August 2010 issue of Money Magazine ranked McKinney number five on the list of Best Places to Live in the country. McKinney is the only Texas city in the top 10. Money Magazine said, "Lots of towns near Dallas have low crime, affordable homes, and good jobs; McKinney is no exception. What makes it stand out is its gem of a downtown... Though McKinney has grown like mad over the past decade, you'd never suspect it when driving through its tree-filled communities surrounded by ponds, parks, and hiking trails"
The Dallas Morning News ranked west McKinney third best neighborhood for safety and schools in all of Dallas, Rockwall, Collin, Denton and parts of Tarrant counties in 2013.
In 2009, Forbes magazine listed McKinney as one of the top 25 cities in the US to move
to. In 2012 our city was listed as one of the 100 best communities for young people by Promise Alliance.
The land bordering Stonegate's northern property line is a dedicated natural reserve owned by the city which gives the community access to a creek and a portion of a small lake that is accessible for fishing or non-motored boating. Just north of the community off Virginia Parkway is the new Bonnie Wenk Park which has a 2 acre dog park, 1.2 miles of concrete trails, restrooms, amphitheater and parking. Phase II will include a couple of playgrounds, soccer and lacrosse fields and an entry from Hardin north of Virginia.
Stonegate Homeowners Association is dedicated to maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and harmonious neighborhood, while increasing the value of its members' property by being good stewards and fiscally responsible with all membership dues and by enforcing the covenants as set by this association.
